AUGUST
BLACK
PHILANTHROPY
MONTH
Black Philanthropy Month is celebrated in August to elevate African descent giving and funding equity. Dr. Jacqueline Copeland-Carson of the Pan-African Women's Philanthropy Network established the month of August as Black Philanthropy Month in 2011. During BPM, philanthropists unite worldwide to celebrate, support, boost visibility, and increase funding of Black-led nonprofit organizations. This year's theme for Black Philanthropy Month is "Love in Action." Chi-Village is the embodiment of LOVE IN ACTION! We are rooted in showering our community with love and expressing our appreciation for Black-lived experiences globally. All Chi-Village programs support local Black-owned businesses and creative enterprises contributing to economic empowerment and the advancement of the African Diaspora. In August 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 crisis, Chi-Village was founded after hosting a small free festival for the community to pay homage to their ancestors, honor elders in the village, and share their talents & gifts. On August 21, we celebrated three years as an established 501(c)(3) organization, and we would be grateful if you could help us celebrate our anniversary on MONDAY, AUGUST 28TH! We are asking YOU to join us in celebrating three years by committing to contributing a minimum of $3 to the Chi-Village #GIVE828 campaign. We graciously accept donations to help reach our goal of $5,000, which will help cover expenses associated with continuing to produce the Chi-Village VIBERAISER series. In 2021, Chi-Village launched "Viberaiser," a workshop focused on strengthening reciprocal interaction between emotional, mental, and physical health.
